1994 Mercury Sable Grandma car This car belonged to my mother. She bought it used from a dealer in the mid '90s and drove it about fifteen years until she quit driving in 2010 (at age 91) and gave it to us. We may not have put 10,000 miles on it, and it only has 62K total on the clock. The car is mechanically sound and runs well. There are two brand new tires on it and the other two are decent. A/C runs, cruise control works, power seats and windows work. Upholstery is cloth and in great shape. Front seats are split bench with fold down armrests. Unfortunately, the radio (cassette player) isn't working (might be simple, might not), nor is the digital clock. She was hit once in the offside rear, probably around 2007, and which was repaired, although the paint isn't a perfect match--it's a metallic, so...(Pumice Metallic, Mercury's color description). Downsides are cosmetic. Both front and rear bumper covers have the measles and need replacing if you want the car to look its best. The plastic side trim is tired, too, as is the plastic trim around the near side seat. The headliner is perished, as well. But, for solid transportation to drive to work, do nothing, because it runs fine.
